“The Bollywood Project is preparing for release on the festival circuit after four years of filming. Directors Adam Dow and Ruchika Muchhala created the 70-minute documentary to explore beyond the glamorous facade of the Hindi cinema industry.”

“The two directors have followed four individuals, artists and workers from the industry, for the last four years, shadowing them from the sets and make-up vans to the privacy of their homes. Dow and Muchhala say they did not get into the project thinking they would film the subject for four years, but they knew they’d cover their subjects for a substantial period of time, until they were confident that they had their story.”

Muchhala and Dow did not begin their filmmaking adventure with too much professional or personal experience with the Hindi film industry. Being newcomers to the world of Bollywood, the two filmmakers perhaps did not initially anticipate the depth of their venture.
